Arts Award
Grundy Art Gallery, as part of Blackpool Arts Service, delivers the Arts Award to young people across Blackpool and the Fylde coast. The Arts Award is a national qualification, which supports young people to develop as artists and arts leaders. Young people aged between 11-25 can achieve an Arts Award at levels Bronze, Silver and Gold.
How can you get involved?
Bronze Arts Award summer scheme is for 12-16year olds and includes week long activities exploring the arts. Past activitiies have included; film, visual arts, fashion, photogrpahy and music. To achieve your Bronze Award, you will work with artists and professionals to produce exciting new pieces of work and complete a portfolio which expresses your creativity.
Silver Arts Award is for young people over the age of 14. This award is more focused on exploring an element of the arts you are interested in, for example; fashion photography. This award is self-directed study with our support and can take up to 6 months (not intensive) to complete.
Gold Arts Award is for young people who have completed the Bronze and Silver with us and are ready for a bigger challenge. This is an opportunity to refine your creativity and learn new skills in managing a public event/activity. To see what the 2011 Golds achieved this year, click here.
Since 2007 we have seen over 130 young people achieve an Arts Award with us. If you would like to register your interest in the Arts Award please contact Kerry Hunt, Education Officer on 01253 478170 or kerry.hunt@blackpool.gov.uk
